Welcome to the Midwest Azure Cloud Computing User Group!

Welcome, all!

My name is Bryce Calhoun, and I am your regional host for the MWCCUG. Thank you for joining the group, and I look forward to meeting each of you over the coming months as we conduct our regional user group meetings in Chicago.

Our meetings will be hosted in alternate months in the Microsoft downtown and Downers Grove offices, so please don't hesitate to click on the "events" link at the top to find out more about the meeting we have coming up next.

Our goal for this group is to help everyone understand the features, functionality and value of the Azure platform, and what it takes to develop and deploy applications to the cloud.

Comment by Wade Wegner on January 16, 2009 at 8:22am: Trevor - if you're looking for a good introduction to the Azure Services Platform (of which Windows Azure is a part), I'd encourage you to take a look at http://www.microsoftpdc.com/ - these are recordings from PDC 2008. Specifically, I'd recommend "BB01 A Lap Around the Azure Services Platform" by John and Dennis. After this, watch "ES16 A Lap Around Windows Azure" by Manuvir.
